MEEC Show Series Adds Adult Classes

The recently opened Meridian Equine Education Center (MEEC) hosted the first show of their summer series on June 21, 2014. The turnout was exceptional for a first show. As usual, the Open classes were flooded with Junior and Senior riders–a common complaint from adult competitors who don’t want to compete against kids.
MEECOutdoorMost organizations, while largely supported by adults, ignore the adult competitors. Not true of MEEC. Instead, they have announced that their next two shows will have an adult division for riders 18 and over only. The Adult division will include the following classes:

  • Adult Equitation Flat
  • Adult Hunter Under Saddle
  • Adult Showmanship
  • Adult Western Pleasure
  • Adult Western Horsemanship
  • Adult Ranch Riding
  • Adult Key Hole
  • Adult Single Barrel
  • Adult Barrels

MEECIndoorThe remaining shows will be July 26 and August 16 at their facility at 7930 Murfreesboro Rd, Lebanon, Tennessee. The facility includes a 150′ x 250′ outdoor arena and a 60′ x 60′ indoor arena. Both arenas are lit and have bleachers for visitors.
The shows kick off at 8:30 AM. Classes are just $5 for anyone who registers by July 19. Class fees after July 19 will be $7 per class. Visit their Facebook page to download the show bill, entry form, and release.
I look forward to supporting an organization that is listening to and responding to their adult amateurs! Hope to see you there!
